Makerere Historical Journal 2026 Call for Papers – Deadline December 15 

In advance of the publication of Volume 7 of the Makerere Historical Journal in December, the journal invites authors to submit articles, reports, and book reviews for Volume 8, to be published in 2027. The Makerere Historical Journal publishes peer-reviewed articles, reports and book reviews on topics related to Ugandan and eastern African history, archaeology and heritage. Originally established in 1975, the Journal is the publication of the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies at Makerere University. The Journal publishes articles in conversation with the work of the Department of History, Archaeology, and Heritage Studies and welcomes submissions on all topics related to Ugandan and Eastern African History, Archaeology and Heritage as well as conceptually or thematically related works. 

All submissions should be completed by December 15th, 2026. Those submitting should refer to our submission guidelines and specific requirements for types of submissions and can submit in our online system after making an account.
