To describe the 'AbaiseNgobi' in terms of charismatic leadership and a prestigious cultural tradition doec, not really explain how AbaiseNgobi hegemony was achieved over most of northern Busoga. The aim of this article is a better understanding of the consolidation of AbaiseNgobi rule by examining, within a particular polity, social and economic factors affecting political integration.
